The Kidney and Hypertension Center Scholarship 2026: Applications Now Open

The Kidney and Hypertension Center (KHC) is accepting applications for the 2026 KHC Scholarship, awarding $2,500 to two high school seniors passionate about pursuing careers in healthcare. This annual scholarship reflects KHC’s dedication to fostering the next generation of medical professionals and advancing kidney health in our community and beyond.

The path to medical school requires not just academic dedication but also financial resources that can create barriers for passionate, talented students.

KHC created this scholarship to help remove some of those financial obstacles. By supporting students pursuing careers in healthcare, we’re investing in a future where more communities have access to compassionate, well-trained medical professionals.

Scholarship Details

KHC is offering two scholarships of $2,500 each to high school seniors who demonstrate both academic excellence and genuine passion for medicine. Recipients can use these funds toward tuition, fees, room and board, books, or other education-related expenses at their chosen college or university.

Winners will be honored at the 2026 Cincinnati Kidney Walk, where they’ll have the opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals, kidney patients, and community members united in the mission to improve kidney health outcomes.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the KHC Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Current high school senior graduating in 2026
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent)
  • Interest in pursuing a healthcare career
  • Completion of the full application, including the required essay

  • Application Deadline: April 6, 2026
  • Winner Notification: April 27, 2026
  • Award Ceremony: 2026 Cincinnati Kidney Walk (date TBD)

Applications must be submitted by the end of the day on April 6th. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered, so we encourage students to start early and ensure all materials are submitted before the deadline.

How to Apply

You’ll need to complete the full application form and submit a one-page essay describing your interest in medicine.

Along with your application, you’ll need to submit proof of your GPA, either through an official transcript or verification from your school counselor.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of healthcare professionals and educators associated with KHC. The selection committee will evaluate candidates based on academic achievement, the quality and thoughtfulness of the essay, and demonstrated passion for the medical field.

Recipients must use the scholarship within two years of receiving the award and agree to participate in a photo opportunity at the Cincinnati Kidney Walk award ceremony. KHC may feature scholarship recipients in marketing materials and on social media to inspire future applicants and celebrate these accomplished students.
