Sara Atallah, M.D.

Dr. Sara Atallah pursued nephrology out of a deep fascination with the intricate physiology of the kidneys and a desire to support patients facing critical health challenges. Renowned for her compassionate, patient-centered approach, Dr. Atallah focuses on individualized treatment plans and preventive care, fostering strong, trusting relationships with her patients.

She earned her M.D. from the Lebanese University in Lebanon, where she contributed to the establishment of a student academic club . Dr. Atallah further honed her expertise through rigorous training at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra in Staten Island, NY, and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY. During her residency, she was honored as Resident of the Year and received a Recognition Award for Humanistic Medicine, reecting her
dedication to providing empathetic care. During her fellowship, she served as the wellness representative of her program, showcasing her commitment to improving the quality of life for those around her.

Dr. Atallah specializes in managing hypertension, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, electrolyte abnormalities and different dialysis modalities. Her work in peritoneal dialysis and managing acute kidney injury during the COVID-19 pandemic underscores her dedication to advancing nephrology through both clinical practice and research. She has published impactful studies and quality improvement initiatives in prominent journals and actively contributes to the
eld as a peer reviewer for respected publications.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Atallah enjoys exploring new cultures and languages. Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, she values travel and cultural exchange, enriching her perspective on global health and patient care. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, particularly biking.
