Bhupesh Khadka, MD

During the early days of his medical school, Dr. Khadka became fascinated by how the body regulates water and electrolytes. Together with that interest and the inspiration from his residency, he chose nephrology to be his specialty.

He really enjoys practicing nephrology by helping patients from the ICU to the office and taking care of their illnesses. Dr. Khadka is interested in preventing and managing chronic kidney disease. He has a keen sense of listening to patients and their symptoms and helping them to understand those symptoms by explaining the scientific basis of what it means. He likes to empower patients with knowledge so that they understand the changes that are happening in their bodies. Dr. Khadka feels that he can alleviate his patients’ anxiety with this approach.

As a nephrologist, Dr. Khadka provides services like different types of dialysis, plasmapheresis, manages immunosuppressive therapy  for glomerular diseases and provides post kidney transplant care. He also manages difficult and resistant cases of hypertension, issues with electrolyte disorders and aids in the prevention of kidney stones.

Apart from practicing medicine, he loves hiking, cycling, and playing/watching soccer. He has a keen interest in global health and does volunteer work in his spare time in this field.

Dr. Khadka knows his stuff! He doesn't rush through appointments and takes the time to listen to problems and concerns. Very happy with my husband's treatment at KHC.
